Catholic Relief Services - Preventing and fighting against trafficking in rural areas of Georgia

Tuesday 4 December 2007

This pilot project aims to develop measures to prevent trafficking in human beings in the remote rural areas of Georgia, and also to strengthen through training the expertise of local NGOs on this phenomenon. Local associations belonging to a coalition of NGOs work in 60 villages per region in four different regions (Adjara, Guria, Kvemo Kartli and Imereti). They inform local populations about trafficking in human beings in agreement with the heads of the villages. Publications in Georgian and Russian complete these information sessions.
