Mechanism to Monitor the Council of Europe Convention on Action Aginst Trafficking in Human Beings (16 May 2005)

The Convention on Action Against Trafficking in Human Beings includes a mechanism by which the implementation of by Member States may be monitored. This is overseen by the Group of Experts on Action Against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) and the Committee of the Parties. Their objective is to evaluate how different Member States are implementing measures to prevent trafficking, protect the presonal rights of victims, and pursue traffickers, and they started work in February 2009.
