La Cimade

Tuesday 19 August 2014

Cimade’s mission is to welcome, guide and protect foreigners. One of its main activities is to welcome, guide and defend the foreign facing administrative difficulties related to stay or asylum. The association is also active in places of detention where foreign persons are kept (waiting areas, detention centers, and prisons). It also helps for the integration of refugees. It supports partners in developing countries on projects related to the defense of fundamental rights, refugee assistance or support to people taken back to their country.

Since about ten years, La Cimade has hosted and accompanied victims of human trafficking, as part of the legal permanence of Cimade or holding centers. Following an overview of the situation, legal training in terms of the right of residence and asylum have been established as well as awareness time around the identification of victims, the legal dispute has been developed and partnerships at local, regional and sometimes national level were developed.
